The Green Xchange at Stirling View
On 15th January 2011, our Sec 5 students were involved in a CIP-Green project. The aim of the Green Xchange is to inculcate recycling habits into the heartland of Singapore. The project will involve encouraging residents to exchange recyclable items (bottles, plastics and paper) for staple food such as rice. Our students certainly exuded the school values of Resilience, Integrity, Service and Excellence through this project and they were affirmed by our partners, Avelife and PAP Community Foundation. As the seniors in the school, our Sec 5 students certainly showed remarkable leadership, in leading the way in community work by example.
Affirmation by partners: Appreciate Queenstown Sec sending students passionate for the community.
They indeed exude Queenstown Sec values: Resilience, Integrity, Service,
Excellence.
Mark Cheng Executive Director Avelife
This group of students show initiative and were outstanding in their conduct and diligent in helping the residents exchange old newspapers, bottles and clothes for food items. One particular student, Chen Yee, must be highly commended for his leadership skills in organising the group of student volunteers and assisting the organisers in the carrying out of the project.
We will be looking forward to more fruitful partnerships with Queenstown Secondary School in the near future.
