On 29th January 2011, eight of our student leaders facilitated a heritage trail to Chinatown for our new international students. It was an excellent platform for our student leaders to put into practice the leadership skills acquired over the last year.

The objectives of the trail are:

1. To expose our foreign students to the rich history and culture of Chinatown.
2. To allow our student leaders with CCE opportunities in building up their leadership skills, through the facilitation of the heritage trail.

Our group consisted of Singaporean, Vietnamese, Thai, German and Chinese friends. The trail provided a common experience for all which brought about new friendships amongst the different nationalities. The students learnt about Singapore’s history, in particular the history of the Chinese in the past. Having witnessed the grim lifestyle of the past at the Chinatown Heritage Centre, the students were able to better appreciate the fortunate times they are enjoying currently.
