Geography

Geography is all around you. The type of food you eat, the clothes you wear, the types of houses you stay in, the kind of landforms your coountry possesses, and everything and anything is closely linked to how the Earth has evolved over millions of years. In order for human to have more control over our living environment, it is important for us to gain a deeper understanding of this place we call home. Welcome to the world of Geography (2192/2235), as we embark on a learning journey to the study of Earth and everything on it.


To facilitate learning, Geography is often divided into two broad categories: Physical Geography, where we look into the aspect of the Earth, and Human Geography, where the artificial and man-made component of the Earth is analysed. You will come to see what you can expect in the learning of Pure Geography(2235) and Elective Geography(2192) in the following segment.

    • Human beings are highly adaptable creatures who are able to adjust according to various climates around the world, from the way we eat, to the way we dress. However it takes great effortfor humans to adapt, unlike us, vegetations takes all these in their stride, adapting to harsh conditions in deserts to highly conducive environments in the tropics. In this Unit, we will take a look into the inner world of the natural vegetations around us, of how they have adapted themselves to the various climaticconditions around the world. More importantly, how the lungs of the Earth are now under serious threats due to Human activities and how we can help the situation...Wait no more, pledge you allegiance to help these silent victims of our activities.

  • Rivers
    • Flowing from the highest mountain peak to the lowest valleys, rivers knows no boundaries. Rivers can be highly destructive in times of flood, however, they can be givers of life when properly managed and harnessed. Before you can manage and harness it, you will first have to understand how it works. Sail through this Unit as we explore the most intimate details of rivers, from what gives them energy, to the landforms they create and possible strategies to manage them.
